Thank you volunteers
The Upstate New York Chapter held its 2nd Annual MS Service Day on Saturday, June 11, 2011. It was a day of helping others and creating friendships between 
volunteers and people with MS their community. MS Service Day is a day when teams of volunteers go out to homes of people with MS to help with chores that the person with MS has difficulty completing. This year over 100 volunteers visited 25 homes in 15 different counties across the Upstate New York area.
This year we added a fundraising component to MS Service Day. Through generous donations and sponsorships, we were able to raise over 5,000 dollars for our financial assistance program specifically to help with home modifications and maintenance throughout the year.
MS Service Day has a great impact on the homes and people that were served. Here are some of the expressions of gratitude from recipients of help on MS Service day;

MS Service Day is a very meaningful volunteer experience as well. Although volunteers work hard, the day is full of rewards and provides lasting friendships with fellow volunteers and households served. As one volunteer described her experience, “…it really was worth sweating to get a very heart-felt hug at the end of our day.” We would like to extend a heart-felt thank you to all those volunteers who participated in MS Service Day!
